Hey guys, I'm a little lost and could sure use some advice. I've got a 96 3500 Cummins 4x4 basically stock. For some reason neither my horn nor cruise control want to work. I've checked the fuses and still can't find anything. I've read the spring clock may go bad but when that happens the cruise control light will at least come on still. My light doesn't even come on the dash. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary when iwas checking the wires. If anyone has any ideas i could sure use the help, thanks

 

Sounds like the clock spring. As for the light, it doesn't always keep working when the spring goes.

 

I'd say the clocks spring as well. The horn, airbag and cruise are all run through it.

 

Is there any way to test it before I replace it? Thanks for the help by the way.

 

I had good luck popping them out and bending the contacts up so they pressed together harder on my old Fox body Mustangs. Amazingly, I've never had this issue with this truck in spite of the miles so I don't know if that'll work or not.

 

Ok sounds good. I think I'll run up to the junk yard and pull one out, hopefully that does the trick
