EGR and DPF missing programmer
I bought an 08 350 with both deletes and at some point I guess it had a programmer on it. They sold it to me without it but ran like it was new until it went into regen one time and just died on my way to work. Now the key turns and all gauges and accessories turn on fine but it wont crank over, it won't start now. It blows white smoke and bogs down a little until it finishes regen but as stated before ran fine. I recently purchased a Spartan but wondering will that fix it. Anyone have any ideas?? I'm open to suggestions.
Sounds to me like someone didn't want to give up a $1200 tuner. Only 2 ways to fix the problem.
#1 make sure your Spartan has a DPF Delete program if not you can get one for $1200 and it should work.
#2 Take is to a muffler shop that can get thier hands on a DPF system and have it put back on.
Also check your oil. If it's been Regenerating without the delete and filter then you have a higher chance of fuel getting past the piston and down into the oil near the cam. This will cause some blueish white smoke to come out of your exhaust pipe. If its too full or smells like fuel change it immediatly.

thank you both, I have since purchased a Spartan with the EGR and DPF delete on them but the times it has gone into regen it has produced white smoke. I recently got an oil change and only drove It once before it went into limp mode.
