Default FICM issues Help!!!!!

I took my 6.0 to my mechanic who has worked on my gas burners for years. It wouldnt start or anything and when it would it would die within seconds. It had been runnin rough when cold and rough to start for a couple months, he pulled the codes on her and said it was the FICM. I have read up on sending it off and getting it refurbed for about 250 there are also some people that do it for about 100 and they treat it like a computer mother board and try to fix it. Any tips or tricks, new to the forum and looking forward to learning alot about my first diesel

Try this link out, it shows you how you can fix the FICm yourself, its not too hard, just make sure you use a toothpick or something to hold the small pieces down when you are resoldering.
