I would put a piese of pipe through the cat after you gut it so it wouldn't be like a expasion chamber.

if you wanna do it right i'd just cut the cat out leave about 6 inches of pipe on both ends and get some 3 bolt flanges that'll just weld on to all the pipes and do the same for the another piece of pipe with flanges on it and bolt it up and take it off if and or when you have inspections, that's what i did for a friends 5500 dodge with the DPF system, it'll take him alot more time to do than it will just a little cat converter pipe but still the same principal

Only if it gets sucked into the intake I'm sorry.......I had to.

I've been running without a kitty for years without a problem, of course I only use the truck for off road applications.

i understand and kno that a straight pipe exaust with no cat no muffler is fine, but im asking bout having the cat that came with the truck but gutted with no muffler. Im loving the air flow an sound, but jst wondering if the air builds up and spins around in that gutted cat

i think the exhaust is flowing fast enough i don't think much is going to happen in that regard, I'm sure some of it doesn't go through as fast as you'd like but it's better than having the cat on there
