Default 6.0 powerstroke cracked y pipe

i was wondering if anyone knew the problems with y pipe cracked.i have truck half way tore apart and i need to get it to the shop cause it aint running right with no power and i was wondering if the cracked y pipe is a major concern.cause if it aint i was gona just go ahead and put back togethor without fixing y pipe.so i can get it to a shop monday cause its my welding truck and i cant make any money with it not running right.thanks

It's going to lose turbo drive pressure, and likely be noisy as hell. Which side did it break on?

driver side it is blowin out of the mesh looking stuff on the pipe.pretty good amount the whole firewall and back of motor is full of black sut.and u can see the the blackness around that mesh on pipe.thanks

It definately needs to be fixed, and is not a very fun job to do, FWIW. Best I can offer is take the RH pipe apart, and pull the short section out, then undo the driver's side and wheel the hole business outta there - it's a real ignorant repair to do.

i got it out this morning it was a pain.but can i just cut that part out thats leaking and weld in a piece a pipe

sure can i did that to mine but i welded the top end in place bolted it in place threw the turbo in to get it lined up and tacked it in place then i pulled it back out and tig welded everything....... no more accordian
