When the regulator failed the resivoir for the HPOP went dry, that is why it died so it will take a lot of cranking to get it running it is best to have a good battery charger on the whole time or even have jumper cables to another running vehicle, it will kill the batteries several times before it will fire up otherwise. Once running keep it at about 1500rpm for a minute or too, then take it out for a drive and work the loud pedal some to help get the rest of the air out of the system.
