Low Oil Pressure

I believe alldata's first step is to check actual low pressure oil with a mechanical guage if I remember correctly. A code reader would be helpful. Mine never had an engine light on with that problem but had a code

That's is first step and yeah 6.0s don't like throwing CEL and lots of times won't even throw codes haha always pissed me off

The oil pressure gauge in the instrument cluster has nothing to with the high pressure oil pump, oil rail, IPR, or ICP...

No it doesn't but the low pressure there can be caused by other things

HPOP failing causing oil to rush by not building pressure will cause this I know because the HPOP in my 04 broke the check ball off and gauge in dash read nothing at idle then built the second you touch it so that is a false statement
