White Smoke Healed?

White Smoke Healed?
Sorry if this has been covered as I did not locate in a search elsewhere.. (2005 f250 6.0)Just when I thought I had heard them all I get this latest. I recently had the white smoke typical of egr/oil cooler failure or head gasket deal. Truck sucks up coolant, white smoke, begins to overheat, loads up, stalls & wont restart for 30 minutes. Awaiting the funds to repair I have let it sit for the last month or so. I started today to move it out of the way and no smoke. I let it run for 15 minutes and still no smoke, perfect temp, no loading up or stalling. Now I'm scratching my head as to what the problem might be. Head gasket, egr/oil cooler, none of these problems can repair themselves so now I'm at a loss. Stuck something? But what? I haven't had much luck in my search.. Thank you in advance for any ideas.. Thank you for the reply. Yes, what you described is exactly the symptom i have experienced until this latest time I fired it up. A good 20 minutes and no signs of heat and no trace of coolant from the exhaust.. It isn't making sense. I also had an excursion with the 6.0 so I've endured all of these problems once in a previous life. Its just that the problem I've been waiting to fix now isn't presenting itself so I'm now afraid to drive the truck and at the same time wondering if it could have been a fluke like a stuck valve of some sort that I haven't heard of.. I'm really getting sick of these things. Maybe I'll switch back to gas. 75mph up hill towing a 15000lb trailer may not be all that important afterall..
