No start after sitting up 1 week
Hello, I'm new to this site and to the diesel world... I'm no mechanic by any means so I need some help. My truck is bone stock with the exception of EGR delete that was installed about four months ago. My truck is a daily driver and I pull a 20 ft gooseneck about four days a week. I parked it while on vacation for a week. Got in yesterday and it wouldn't start. After cranking on it it finally started, ran ruff and died within 10 seconds. Top fuel filter cap was cracked, I replaced it and also replaced both fuel filters with motor craft filters. Still no start. It tries occasionally but won't. I've primed it by cycling the key on and off several times but still nothing... Can anyone help me with this issue?
Check your ficm, easy test at top in sticky notes. Also check fuel pressure at second filter on top of engine. Start with basics! You need 48 volts at ficm for injectors to fire. Also read other posts here, these guys keep me running!
