Just bought this truck, while pulling a load a lot less than max towing capacity. It bogs down in all gears and starts blowing black smoke? I was thinking turbo but I can hear it boosting properly. I just bought the truck and I've heard EGR problems in the 6.0 fords. Can anyone help me diagnose this issue? Injectors?EGR? or what?

Check and clean your EGR valve. Check for CAC boot leaks/damage. Check for leak/damaged up-pipe and y-pipe flex joints. Check for leak/damaged MAP hose and clogged MAP hose fitting in intake manifold.


Those were the easy ones, now you may have sticking VGT vanes, remove turbo and clean.

Any more than that you will need a scan tool to read live data.
