Default Transmission bolt pattern

Is the trasnmission bolt pattern on a 7.3 L IDI..similar to certain gas engine bolt pattern where you can interchange certain transmission ?

I have heard of people using a 460 trans but you have to make the top two bolt holes bigger. The rest should line up.

wrong. the top two line up. it is the others that need to be drilled out. but to answer the OP's question, no bolt right up. no gas automatic will work at all, and as stated a zf5 from a 460 can be made to work.
