Cold starting
How many miles on the truck? And whats the compression? Glow plugs can only do so much, if you dont have a good amount of compression then glow plugs might not help a thing, i would check your compression before you spend any money on plugs especially being tight on cash. might be a waste of money.
and just fyi, since you have a early motor, (83-84.5ish) do not use your blockheater. the block is thin around it and using it can cause the block to crack. if u need to use a heater, get a Kats heater that goes in the bottom rad hose.
Motor has 40k on it. Truck has 460k on it. Truck runs like a champ. I ordered plugs from accurate diesel. They should be in this saturday. Hopefully after the new plugs I won't have to plug it in unless I want the truck to produce heat within the first 30 min of driving it.
