My '89 International was not equipped with a tach from the factory.I have since found a guage cluster that has a tach in it.Where in the heck would the tach sensor be located on my engine? Thanks

 

tach sensor is located in the ip gear housing. on top. if no sensor is there it will just be a big bolt threaded into the cover on the driverside.

Can't find it on the gear housing.There is only an inspection plate opposite the pump (on the front of the gear housing) on my engine.Its otherwise blank.Some older wiring diagrams suggest it could be on the flywheel housing. I'll do some more digging around. Thanks for your reply, though.
