try running a wire straight from battery + to the fuel shut off solinoid. might not have power in the wire for ignition.

Hello I've got a question in connection with this problem. I've got the same engine, and IP.

I took off the upper cover of the injection pump of.
I see the shot off rellais in the cover working, if I put 12V on it a small push rod moves out of it.
But I do not really see which part has to be pushed by this push rod in the IP if I put the cover back.

(My problem is that the fuel pump can't pump any diesel in the IP, I'm looking for the failure, I think this reellais are working, but mechanially do not operating correct and do not opens the way of the fuel in the IP...)

if your IP does not get any fuel i think you have a problem with your mechanical lift pump or the fuel filter is clogged.

check your schader valve on the fuelfilter housing ( its a valve like on a tyre) push the centre with a screwdriver and let somebody crank, the fuel should spray out ( the amount that has to come out is discribed earlyer in this topic)

Well, I assembled the IP today, and it seems working, I don't really know what the failure was in it before, but now - after cranking - the fuel appeared in the pressure lines, so it seem to be god.

Thank You, both!

i had an old idi that had the same trouble...take the fuel line from the fuel tank and put it in a five gallon container, same with the return fuel line. in that five gallon container, put some trans fluid in the diesel to thicken it up and boost you fuel pressure. then you can bleed your injector lines and so on. that worked great for me. Once you get the truck running and smoothed out, you can then hook your fuel line back up the the tank as well the return line. My motor was sitting in the junk yard for a year and then two more years before i put it in the truck...only had 150K on it. and also, look to see if there is any fuel coming out of the return line and if there is, how much....there should be a steady flow coming out of it
