Hey y'all I was thinking about any upgrades possible to my truck.. It's a 94 IDI with the stock turbo.. I'm on a budget, I mean it's not terrible but somewhat tight. Any ideas on things I can do? Anything will be appreciated!

 

only so much you can do with stock turbo ,,, they were made to not push more than 18psi to save head gaskets ...

first thing is do ARP studs ...
then get a pyro
then turn up power screw ..


define on a butget .. for $5k you could be making 400/800

 

Is it possible to installs smoke switch or even home made smoke switch on a 7.3 IDI?

 

no . its a mechanical pump .

 

Bummer... And by budget I'm a junior in high school.. I don't earn so much in the winter but in the summer it's about 500 a month.. So that's my budget. So does that help with any ideas? I was honestly thinking about getting no rid of it for a Cummins.. Is that worth it or not a good trade?

 

Going to cost a lot and a lot of time , less time and money you could really build up the 7.3 .
