You adjust it by loosening the the 3 nuts that secure the IP and then rotate it accordingly. You barely need to move it at all though, a hairs width at a time. Twisting towards the driver side is retarding and towards the passenger side is advancing. The engine must be off though. You need a special tool that senses the injection pulses through the lines to accurately set the timing. The tool runs well over $100 to purchase.

a friend of mine has the tool wich was the only reason i asked so i could check it thanks man

dont go cheap on batteries i did and every time i turend around thay was dead its worth the extra for the best

You may have a lift going out. The IP either works or don't work. If the engine starts to idle fast, then slow, your governor is going out. Need to replace it then to.
