My recently purchased 02 2500 has very low power under tow (6000 lbs). I changed the Injection and lift pumps with no improvement. I had a map sensor code along with the 2016 and I had them cleared and they haven't returned. Can a map sensor take that much power away? Also, can this motor be "turned down" with a programmer? If so how can I tell?

The Smarty tuner has the ability to flash a half power tune into the computer. If you are in doubt of what is in the ECM, best thing to do is take it to a dealer for a reflash. You'll start off fresh with whatever you are looking to do.

MAP issues can have performance issues. Low power, and black smoke are common.
