I say go with 3 also. Especially if all you have to do is hop in and drive, you are that much further ahead.

actually if you can get the money buy up number 2 and 3, take the turbo and gear vendors off number 2 put it on number 3 and sell number 2 and possibly make some money off of it

Number 3 hands down. Then when the IDI gives up the ghost (not that it WILL, just IF) or ya want some real power, stuff a 12V in er!

I like them old Superduty's, monster rear's with disks, a real front end, whats not to love?

I wouldn't buy a jasper reman, how long ago was it put in ,and is there still a warranty? I know a few guys that have not hadf the best of luck with their remans. I am sure for the two I know about there are thousands that have functioned fine.

a guy at a local car lot has #3, he bought it at a equipment auction, we think it came from the airport, he took the huge winch off it and now is selling the truck on his lot, i think we are getting it friday, we are trading him a 1991 ford explorer for 800 and a 7x7 spa, my dad works for a pool/spa company and we got one that had some issues and we are fixing it and selling it to him for 1000 bucks. so that will be 1800 of the 2500, plus we are putting a couple hundred down. plus im selling the 9 foot tool box body for like 1000 and its in perfect shape, so that will go directly to the truck. plus the truck should have a PTO on the tranny from what ive read.

or i could just go buy the V10 powered 2500 2nd gen ram with 40 inch groundhawgs under it and a bad tranny for 1500 from a car lot near me and swap in the cummins and put the V10 in my 1st gen......

ill probably just buy the Super Duty.

1500? really? well then, that lifted v10 sounds like a good deal dispite the trans issue, but from what i have read elsewhere, u need an operational vehicle to go retrieve your primary toy....... I like option number 4. But I have always liked them Fsuperduty's ever sence I had one for a work truck. A turbo kit, or a cummins and thats a helluva truck.
