Need confirmation or atleast some ideas.
i use dawn. works great. just fill with water, and soap. run for till hot. drain. repeat. repeat. repeat. till all oil residue is gone. normally takes 3 times or so. i use this method at work also on the equipment.
use enough soap to get the job done. doesnt need alot. 1/4 to 1/2 cup. and to much soap wont hurt anything, just make lots of sudds.
hardest part of doing a oil cooler job is getting the cooler off and back onto the engine. tight squeeze.

Chiltons manuals are pretty helpful, on some cases... And doing the oil cooler isn't that hard, I had to replace a freeze plug when I got my 86 and it was under the cooler... I didn't take the motor mounts off It was a PITA but with removing the motor mounts and fender well it is fairly simple
