so what is a good ratio to go with to get better mpg and still pull decent

3.55 is the best. Mine 6.9 has a 3.55 with a 4 speed. I get about 19 highway(empty). 12 doing decent towing.

It will depend on where you do most of your driving. I have 4:10's and get better mileage in city driving than freeway driving.

im a big fan of a 3.73 ratio. i dont know if they make those gears for the sterlings or not but ive always liked that gear ratio on stock trucks

now max speed im tryin to make past 3 gas stations before i got to fuel up again as it stand my truck will pull like no tommorrow but i aint doin to good on the highway

is there any way to tell from the VIN? I'm looking at a truck on the web and would like to know. It's an '06 2500 6-sp.
