Default Clicking noise?

When I go to start my truck I turn the key and wait for the light to go off to let me start it. I turned the key on to check some lights I had installed and after the wait to start light shut off, there was a loud click coming from the engine and every 2-3 seconds it would click again. It sounded like a loud relay clicking. Is this normal? The truck still starts fine.

I'm not sure if it just started, I've only had the truck 3 days and every other time I turned the key I was starting it. Out of curiosity, how difficult is it to change the GP relay?

There is Two of them one on te right side fire wall and one on the engine on the back. when changing them make sure you put the wires back right or you could start your truck putting them back on. Also Unhook your batteries before hand and you can also ground out your relay while working back there.

How would I know the relay wasn't working? Would the WTS light never shut off or would the truck just not start as easily as it's supposed to.

Well it one he light wont come on, and yes it could come one but would start hard another way to to unplug the the glow plugs from the main plug on the right side in front of the heater core and check the wires from the female end with a volt ohms meter. The last way inspect the wires one by one. Also check if the relays are bolted down. correctly to the frame or if they are cracked.

Its also possible your glow plugs have gone bad and are not working properly or at all.

Also to correct my self the relay on the side is for the starter, but dose of a part in the Glow plug relay on the back of the engine behind the engine intake.
