steering issue
Hey gents,
My 1985 6.9 acts like the power steering pump has gone bad. When I am not moving, it's almost impossible to turn left and right, but when I start moving again it becomes easier to turn, kind of like an old car without power steering. Is it really a slam dunk as a power steering pump? Or could it be something else.

Check your fluid in your pump and if its low you might have a leaky line and no fluid making it do that but you will also hear it whining if the fluid is full an its still whining its probably your pump. But on my 94 I had the same problem right after I replaced the powersteering pump. It was my gear box but after replacing that.. Felt like a new truck and do you have alot of play in the steering ? Another give away that its probably the gear box.
