Default 6.9 bio diesel conversion

Hey all,
I'm a newbie here, but I was wondering if anyone had actually done this. From what I've been told by a bio diesel guru, all you need to do to convert it is install steel braided fuel lines and a steel head gasket. I've also been told that the previous statement is incorrect and that only applies to waste vegetable oil. What are your thoughts?

i run waist motor oil in my 6.9 and i didnt do a damn thing to it and it runs like a charm. been runnig it about 5k now and no probs and i even have shitty injector and injection pump.

I run strait veggie oil filtered to 1 micron nominal. I have a heated fuel tank 2 filters and a heated in line fuel heater before the oil hits the ip and it runs great and smells good and is about 70% cleaner than diesel.

I ran mine to about a 75% mix and need a lot of heaters. Also needed an extra filter on the frame. Its pretty easy to do on a ford with the pre existing dual fuel tanks.

its not so much about the heat needed its more baout the filtration needed ... its almost more expencive to run after you factor all the filters,special hoses, special attn to all the details .... if you have tinkeritus .... this will cure ya of that in a hurry ... IMHO of course ... i ran out of time and money to bother ... i get B5 from local fuel station .. and i just toss in a QT of ATF in each fill up .. all good..

a friend of mine has a diesel repair shop and fuel shop and when bio diesel pumps and injectors come in he tosses them,says he cant rebuild them,the bio diesel trashes them

BS ... the Bio fuel actually has way more lubricity that our fantastic #2 ... might be full of junk and scored due to the junk in the injection system ... but not due to fuel alone

Agreed, I know shops don't like to rebuild the ones people use bio fuel in, but they are by no means trashed
