The 1993 IDI should only be running 10 psi boost stock at most unless you do some work to the engine. The 1995 is a powerstroke and it runs higher boost because the compression is lower. My $.02

94.5-97 7.3 psd turbo would be laggy for you. With a Turbine AR of over 1.0, i would choose a better/more efficient charger

I really like my holset he351ve off the 6.7l cummins. It's VGT so you get instant boost and as you go the turbo opens up allowing it to run very efficiently. If you don't have any fuel mods I'd look into a holset hx35, a borgwarner s256, or if your looking to spend a lot then a Garrett gtx series. Holset will be cheapest because they came stock on all the cummins so not rare whatsoever

91dirtydiesel is correct.. but watch how much boost you run until you beef the engine up... head gaskets are one thing that will start getting annoying trust me
head studs and new head gaskets are a must for more boost

I've had no issues up to 24psi on head bolts. But I have relativley low intake air temps/egts and back pressure, whitch defiantly help

install a cold ait intake system, get a more free flowing exhaust incluting a bigger downpipe, and possibly and intercooler. the idi's esp. factory turboed idi's have very squished exhaust systems
