So my left front hub is going out, and since I was in a town where they had a dealer, I picked one up ($450). I get back home and said, wait a second, I may want to see if a parts store has one. Sure as pooh, they list them, and they even had one on the shelf for $290!!!.

 

Well, the rotor came off easy, helped that I had an 8" 3 jaw puller . Now I got to go and chase a socket for the axle nut.

 

I think alligator has the kriptonite timkin ones for under 200. So start kicking yourself when you get a minute

 

Hell, it's a good day if I only waste $160...

I break at least $1000 worth of stuff a week.

 

Ouch that is no good.

 

What a pita. Just got it back together a half hour ago.

Hey, Bill thats why they are called stealerships !

 

Well they got to somehow make money to help cover warranty work.

On the plus side, my death wobble is almost nill.

I tried really hard to hit rough spots coming onto on off of bridges, and the wheel turned a little bit, but it didn't start shaking the entire truck like it did.

 

I dont think I would EVER buy a part from the dealership unless that is the ONLY place that had them available!!!!
