2000 V10 to 92 12V conversion
Ive read quite a few post on this subject and own both. A 2000 4x4 V10 with 51,200 miles and a 92 D250 Cummins with 120,000 (2wd). Both still run strong, but Im thinkin I like the sound of the shaker better and the 4x4 is always needed.
Anyone with first hand knowledge of a swap like this. First generation intercooled, into a newer 3rd generation gas. I could reuse my intercooler or come up with a intercooler from the a newr donor truck that would bolt right in. I dont want to change my injection pump on my 12 valve. I understand its basically 1 wire. I also feel that the newer trucks computer is really gonna be confused (lots of idiot lights as a result). Or am I overthinking this? Lots of questions. Feel free to pm me.
I would even consider a shop that does this conversion. Im in the Oly area.
Thanks in advance

Im hopin some of the better knowledgeable mechanics on here have some insight in this area/differences, that I am going to run into.
I know theres not much to the 1st gen. that will be my donor, but the newer one has a more electronically controlled computer and sensors.
Anyone... any leads to a shop local to the Olympia area +/- 100 miles that does these conversions???
The reason Im not using a newer engine is cause this is what I have for a donor and its low mileage.
The 2000 is a auto 4x4 if anyone is confused. New converter and valve body differences and possibley, the front input shaft, from what Ive learned so far.
The engine conversion and the current electronics on the 2000 is where my real questions fall.
Thanks again.

Guess there arent any mechanics. Someone else must do your work. Posers, now go ahead and comment on that wannabees.
