As far as I'm concernered, I think most people follow the engine types along with the generations and thats what I do as well. Happy Day's !!

Are we going to make a drink like Hornsbies hard apple cider?
that hard apple cider stuff is wicked, i like it though, and maybe you should do a thread on the uselessness of the dodge drivetrain compared to the engine, and a thread on why my 7.3L powerstroke won't start when it's below 48 degrees and the only reason that's concerning to me is because my dodge is broken, but it started today whereas the 7.3 required a bit of starting fluid but it started just fine after that

The way I see it there are two subspecies of engines in each of the first three gens with subtle and not-so-subtle differences in the powerplants and available tranny combos. Obvious to not-so-obvious body style differences are clues to telling them apart without opening the hood or peeking underneath for other telltale driveline changes:

1st gen - intercooled / non-intercooled

2nd gen - 12v / 24v

3rd gen - 24v / CR

4th Gen - 6.7 / ?

I am a big fan of the Hornsby! I am not much of a drinker, But if given the Chance, I would have one with you.
