How can I tell if my truck has this or not? What do you mean by raised case?

 

You have to take the timing case cover off.

Theres no other way to tell if the KDP has already been fixed or if you have the updated cover.

Not that I've ever heard of

 

NOPE...recalls are for safety items. This is not a safety item.


That being said - there friggin well should be a RECALL on this.

 

your truck is over the year of 2002. so your not effeective

 

The 02 I have had the old case in it.The original owner had the pin drop out and just drop in the oil pan no damage,but dodge replaced it under warranty because they found it with a oil change(his luck is better then mine).The 01.5 has the newer case no pin.

HI I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT ALL BTA CUMMINS AND CTA CUMMINS HAVE THE KILLER DOWL PIN. NOW CUMMINS DID DO A CHANGE TO THE FRONT CASEN BUT DON'T KNOW IN WHAT YEAR. FOR YOU SAFTEY I WOULD CHECK THE KILLER DOWL PIN. IN 2003 THE FRONT CASE WAS CHAGED SO FOR THE SAKE OF THE KILLER DOWL PIN WHENEVER THE FIRST CUMMINS CAME OUT IN A DODGE TO 2002 COULD BE AFFECTED. I HOPE THAT HELPS. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE AND IF WE HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE ON BOARD TO MAKE THE KILLER DOWL PIN A RECALL BUT WE NEED TO GET FOLLOWERS ON THIS ISSUE.
