One afternoon truck would not start temp around 45 cleaned battery cables fired up set 3 hours still fired up next morning fired up went to work after work no start left it at work next day unhooked battery cables for about 25 min hooked them back up and it fired up any ideas on what is causing this issue?

 

batts may be going bad if they cant spin the engine fast enough then wont start on mornings 45 and colder

 

Battery are 1 year old the odd thing is it will start after I unhook them for about 25 min then it might start for the rest of the day then a day later it might not start the do the same thing with the battery's and will start again

 

Have your batteries checked anyway. Cold weather is murder on batteries. If you dont have battery blankets, get them. They protect the batteries against cold and too much heat, which is also hard on batteries. Also clean all ground connections, and check the battery isolator solenoid (just under the passenger battery). It may be faulty. Just tossing it out there.
