Default 5in straight pipe for stock truck?

Im new to this forum so please forgive me if i posted this in the wrong place... I seem the have a bad habit about doing that on forums Anyways I have been looking at straight piping my stock '02 cummins HO with 5in turbo back for awhile now but havnt quite been sure about how it will effect it. I know 5in is normally used for modded trucks but I like the sound of it over the 4in. Does anyone know how it will effect my trucks engine life and performance?

Engine wise it won't hurt anything. Get a system with a muffler, and a tip that will extend past the box. This will greatly reduce cab drone.

Nothin wrong with mine, it acually improved milage a little. And yes get the tip that extends past the body. mine didnt just drone, it shook the whole truck! The tip solves it.
