Default Block Heater Cord

I use my block heater when temps get down around 20*F, the bennefit is a pre warmed motor and quicker heat into the cab, the big plus is a pre warmed motor starts easier and much much less wear than a cold startup is. I recently installed a cord on a 04.5 they come with a block heater but no cord is supplied,I know thats stupid but its what we get I guess. I think 03 and up are that way....What was Dodge thinking Anyway NAPA carries them. Part# 605-9710. About $15.00 Cummins has them PN 251919 about the same price OR you can get one at you local Dodge dealer for around $45.00 Nolly battwings Robin. To install the cord the actual heater coil it plugs into is located under the exhaust manifold and back from the oil cooler, Its in one of the freeze plug holes, there will be a plastic cap just remove it and plug the cord in there and screw the retainer nut tight then route the cord down and along the frame rail and up into one of the front bumper holes, then tie it down good with tie wraps so it will stay secure..........wouldnt want it to get loose and run over it and tear it loose. At work I plug in when I get there and leave it that way till its time to go home , At home I plug it into a timer that is set 3 hours before I start the truck, Believe me a block heater can draw a lotta juice in a month if ya let it, The timer I have is rated for 20 amps so make sure you buy a heavy duty one.

Genos Grage has them too http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo....r=HEATER_CABLE

edit.......... The Napa# per there website would be BK 6059710
