Block heater works when it wants to
Like the title says been having problems with my block heater the other morning I went out to start the truck and it was 9 degrees turned the key and the wait to start light stayed on like it wasn't plugged in but it was truck still fired right up ( I never have problems starting it in the cold just plug it in to help keep her warm) but anyways I went to work and plugged it in again and noticed that when I went out at lunch to start it the light went right out which means the heater was working came home tried a different extension cord thinkg it was my extension cord cus it isn't in the greatest shape it still didn't work and than came home Friday parked the truck and didn't plug it in go out this morning plug it in and just went to check it and it's working
anyone got any ideas or ever had this problem?

replace the cord for your block heater, if it's not the outlet on your house, it's very possible you have a broken wire in your cord. Depending on how it sits when you plug it in it's getting an intermittant connection and either working or not.
Ok cool I went ahead and orderdd a new cord today from cummins the auto parts store sold some cheap looking short cord so I ordered straight from the dealer in order to get a good quality
