Another Cummins option to consider is the 4 BT - whcih is 4 cylinder, gets excellent milage but has the less desireable rotary pump.

Hey Doc, What do those 4 BT's come in ......what do you get them out of ??

I have decided to go with a cummins, now I need to know whatever anyone can tell me about the conversion, 1st gen 12 valve or 2nd? I also would like to know if anyone had any ideas about connecting a 700r4 tranny to the cummins? Anything will be a help and appreciated I'm new to this but just want a diesel in my turd!

Forget the 700r4......it will never live.......you will need the trans from the diesel donor

Well Guys I came across a deal on a 99 powerstroke I couldn't pass up. So the burban conversion is off. I do appreciate all the input.

Yeah that's true. But any competent mechanic or even tinkerer can make a bunch of power without the "plug and play" deal. That's too easy. That's for those who don't understand how to make it happen, but have the bucks to do it that way.

But there's a LOT of those people out there right now. Too bad they go the easy route and don't want to learn the dynamics of engine operation.
