80 Ford 5 ton gas job conversion to 7.3 IDI
We got an old 1980 F600 5 ton truck, and it's only got 5000 original miles on it, however, water got into the engine from snow melting off the windshield, dribbled down onto the air cleaner, and into the cylinders, where it froze and cracked the cylinder from the inside. Anyhow, since it has such low mileage, I want to keep the tranny, a Clark 5 speed with a 2 speed axle.
The engine it had was a 370cid 'lima' V8, also came with a 460 industrial, as well as a V8 diesel (not sure which one)
I have a line on a 7.3 IDI in good shape with all accessories, my biggest concern is the bell housing pattern, engine mounts etc I can deal with.
Anyone know if this engine is at least close to a bolt in? What about clutch splines and size?
