Default Cramming a Cummins ISX under a ford hood..

Well ive been doing quite a bit of research and it appears that its been done!, living in columbus, im surrounded by all the major rig and engine manufactures, apparently cummins headed up a team a few years back that fit an isx under the hood of a 97 f350 and mated it up to a super 10 speed. the modifications were a bit drastic but nothing out of this world. the trucks front end had to be stretched by about a foot and the front section of the frame cut and widened, the axles were swapped to rockwells to support the extra weight. it was rumored to shred the tires off in 4wd. Ive decided to chase a similar idea but possibly with a cat c15 if an isx is too hard to come by, my only issue is i have no idea where in this state much less this country, exists a shop that can perform such modifications. If any of you fine fellow black smoke worshipers have any ideas id love to hear them! If all goes according to plan i will have if not the only but the first excursion rocking a commercial engine and an eaton fuller ultrashift (which i happen to salvage out of a wrecked volvo, man i got lucky that day). So lets here what you guys got!

Now THATS a PROJECT !!

I would think that unless you have very deep pockets - this is something you would have to do yourself. This would be all custom fabrication and considering it costs about $9 k to put a 6bt in a Ford - I cant imagine how much something like this would cost.

Welcome BTW

Not very practical at all, other than to open the hood for crowds at truck shows.
The ISX weighs 1/2 of the entire bare vehicle, after its mounted you've got 4800lbs on the front axle and only 2800lbs on the rear! Good thing people don't actually race pickups outside of a short straight line, its nose would be a tree magnet.

if you are serious about this shoot me a PM. also i would like to reccomend a cummins big cam 4 or older 3406 cat, they are much easier to turn up, i had a kenworth with the big cam sitting at only 650 hp and 2000+ ft lbs, man that thing was fast, and it was easy to turn up. The cummins PT pump which was the injection pump before all the electric stuff came out, has amazing HP and torgue Potential for cheap.
