That sounds like a real monster you got, a 466 in an Econoline. Any pictures?

i am getting rid of the water cooled intercooler, and building a tigged aluminum intake, and using a peterbilt intercooler cut down. im going with a 10 speed instead of the allison 3060, i cant get the parts to connect the 3060 to my 466 and dont want to fight the computer. i didnt cut the floor, but i did a little hammer work and a 4" body lift. rayjon if you want the 3060 pm me. mcgarvey, i would be a little leery of using the standard 3500 frame, as it is about half the strength of an HD frame, ive seen adapters to go from the nv4500 to an sae #2, but that is still a huge housing that will require a body lift, and im afraid the nv4500 wouldnt be strong enough, you might want something more like an fso8406 six speed, but i way over build everything. right now im working on getting the transfer case out of an f550 (nv 271F) to bolt onto my 10 speed rtx14710c, instead of using the divorced military 2.5 ton unit. for a clutch i am using peterbilt linkage and pedals, and a twin disk 14" pull type with a 2" input shaft which was 700$ and nearly impossible to find. getting the 466 in a pickup is a really tight fit, i want to see a pic of the engine compartment of that e 350. i have fatmat inside the cab, and im starting to switch all of the wiring from the 6.5 into the crew cab which was a 454.

thanks for the offer on the allison, but I got a deal on an overdrive fuller 6, I'm interested in how the 466 fits..I was going to do a 8.3 cummins in mine but I needed 6 more inches of engine compartment...looked at stretching the fenders and hood..as the frame has almost 10 ahead of the core support.. Give me a week or so and I will post some pix of how the 5.9 fits...

btw while I am thinking about it I did a couple of layers of sound deadner in the floor roof and sprayfoamed the cab corners and the front of the roof..made a big difference...

the 466 really doesn't fit all that well. i am going to have the radiator part way into the grille and then cut a hole through the grille for the electric fan to sit. the intercooler will be mounted on a brush guard/custom bumper as there is no way of getting it behind the grille without extending the fenders and hood. i looked at extending the fenders and hood, but i am not sure where i could do it so that everything still looks proportionate. right now the tip of the water pump pulley sits into the core support about 1.5 inches.

think about moving the body back ( the mts were fabed by monroe truck) and stretching it at the fire wall...stretch the rear of the fenders and build a filler panel behind the hood...was the easiest way I figured..btw if you are looking for a set of gears for the rear I have a spare 3.73 set with a carrier..

I have enjoyed reading your progress on your build, was wondering

You should list your ideas, truck specs, plans, etc, and parts list/wish list. I see you listed the 92 DT466, but it better not stay at 195hp!

I just picked up a 92 IH 4900 dt466c,cab and chasis , about 155" wheelbase,spicer 5and2,with 22.5
The other half is a 1978 chevy R3500 crewcab 2wd .there are lots of options and obstacles to work on.
