fabman72 all i have right now for the dana 70hd is a pile of expensive parts, when i get the outer knuckles built and finish machining the spindles ill put up some pictures. I got the crew cab and flatbed put on the truck, and im putting the 466 in right now. im having a lot of trouble getting the oil pan to clear the torched up crossmember and the bellhousing to clear the firewall.

That is just too awesome! The stuff I live for.
Are you going to run the intercooler it has, or add an air to air? They had a few different intake manifold options, and I'm pretty sure that water jacket intercooler one isn't going to let enuf air flow thru it.

As for the DT466 swap, way cool...I love this engine, they ARE the most reliable diesel on the market...mine is 30yrs old and purrs like a kitten...is quieter then most newer diesels sold today and gets great mileage...I wouldn't trade it for anything...parts aren't cheap and tune ups are not easy on the pocket book but these engines do rock

Keep in mind a 466 has torque that's around 2.5 times the hp. Your 700hp is more likely to be 1750-1800 for the tork.

I love my mechanical diesel!!! 15 years ago I stuffed a 270 horse version DTA466 into my 1984 E-350, charge air aftercooled with an RTO6610 Fuller 10 speed. Over the years broke 3 sets of rings and pinions in the one weak link Dana 61 axle (3.08 gears) Currently swapping in a Spicer S-135 out of a C5500 Chev. 2.93 gears and a locker. Custom built air bag suspension in the rear. SUCH A VERSATILE ENGINE!!! Great choice guys for a severe modification!! Extremely dependable, this one lights in 10 degree weather, no ether and I don't miss the glow plug system that the original 6.9 liter had!
