285s will fit nicely on those wheels tucked under your truck. If you are handy at all with auto's you can buy the overdrive section off of a 4x4 and stick on your trans.

went for a test drive and well, it drove...trans feels like it slipping or the torque conv. is fubar'd... i only went around the yard mostly (2acres) so it was mostly first gear, take off was slow, all power was definitely not getting to the ground, would hardly even make it up a small hill in the yard. BTW this is the first time the eng/trans was driven in about 3 years, been sitting in the PO's backyard rusting away. Anyway I took it on the road and it shifted into 2nd fairly well it felt, trans got fairly hot as well, it climbed to about 220 and I was only driving around the yard for about 3-5 mins. I would love to drop the 3-4K for a new built 47RH if anyone wanted to sponsor me

when you are ready to start the truck how are you going to make the ignition work to start it, because i am swaping my 24 valve to a 12 and i need to figure that out and also did you have to change the throttle cable on it?
ignition on a 12 valve is fairly simple. fuel shutoff solenoid has 3 wires. ground, hold, and pop. ground is obvious. hold you want ignition on, pop is crank on. there are 2 coils in the fuel shutoff soleniod. one holds it open and there's an additional one to pull it open from closed. then you just need starter and grid heater if you need em.
