12v swap into 2001 HO 6 speed wiring/PS/AC questions
What would it take wiring wise to put a 12V in my 2001 6 speed.
I figure i could put a cable for the shut off solenoid and a toggle for the grids
Can I adapt the cam sensor from my 01 24V engine to work on the 12v engine ? I'd like to use the 12v piston lift pump.
Can i use the exhaust manifold from the 24V on the 12V head ? Just thinking it would be nice as everything is still there or would the 12v exhaust manifold bolt up to the 01 HX35 ?
What about the power steering set up ?
Also will the A/C,airbag,abs ect still work in my 01
Thanks

I'm assuming you want to use the cam sensor for a tach? I don't think a 12 v has a place to mount one, I believe that would have to run off the crank, you wouldn't need a shutdown cable just a wire that has key on power with a fuse, the ac will work but you will have to have hoses made. The powersteering is easy as long as the hose diameter is the same it should be 3/8 id, just crimp the end on to the the hose from your current hose that goes into your gear box. The other thing is your brake booster , if your truck has a vacuum booster make sure you get an engine that has a vacuum pump on the back of the power steering pump.

The a/c is controlled by the trucks computer right ? its a 01.5 i assume as i have rear disks.
So with the engine computer not talking with the truck computer anymore there is no issues running the rest of the trucks electronics ?
There is no adapter available for the cam sensor to get the tach to work on the newer trucks ?
