Default 1996 F150 Frame Question for 6BT Swap

Ok well I have a 1996 ford F150 and I want to put a Cummins 6BT in it. I can do it with a buddy of mine but this will be our first F150 swap. What my question is, is the 1996 f150 frame a 3/4 ton frame of half ton? I've seen mixed answers like "It would have the same frams as an F250 of that year (but different in the front for suspension)" or "It's 1/16th of an inch thinner than an F250 frame." And I need a definite answer...

I just want to know if it is a 3/4 ton frame. What I'll be doing is buying a wrecked Dodge Cummins and swaping the engine, trans, and axles onto the F150. And we will convert the front to leaf springs and lift the truck. I know it's a lot of work but it's a fun project that a friend and I will be doing. So please don't try to discourage , I just want to know if it is a 3/4 ton frame.

Oh and if anyone who has swapped a 6BT into an F150 with the same body style as a '96, how does the frame hold up?

Thanks!!

I don't mean to sound like a smartass but an an f150 is a half ton, the 250 is 3/4 and the 350 is a one ton, they are designed the same it the bigger trucks are thicker sheet metal. If you are doing a solid axle swap with a 3/4 ton axle it really dose t matter. The frame will be fine I left mine stock except for filling in the hole where you would access the oil filter on a 302(left side engine xmembed) just worry about the crumple zone on the front of the frame when you build your front spring mounts.

I know it is a half ton truck, but I was wondering if it was a 3/4 ton frame. I've heard it was a 3/4 ton frame but the suspension and axles is what makes it a half ton truck. I just can't find a good source if it is a 3/4 ton frame or not because I keep getting mixed answers. And if people have used a stock f-150 frame and did a 6bt swap and their frame is still fine, then I'd do it. I'd just feel safer if the frame is confirmed 3/4 ton or not. Thanks though.
