Kubota tractor powered aluminum Jeep
#11
Yes My CNC machinist buddy has the program saved for the mighty Might bell housing....However you would have to provide the engine plate off your kubota as a part of the new adapter...It costs somewhere around $400....give or take.
Also you need a custom oil pan and oil pick up...(unless you mount the engine higher up in the chassis, AND change the front torque tube to a real driveshaft)
Is your Might the M422 or the more common M422A1???
I may be interested in selling the engine, clutch, adapter, oil-pan ect....for a decent price....As I still am considering a crotchrocket engine instead....(I put an R1 in my Rhino and loved it)

I have finally got it drivable...
I have a tiny, rare1960 aluminum military jeep. These lightweight 4x4s came original with a V4 gas engine that was junk. I sold the original engine and started the kubota engine swap.
The engine I used is the kubota V1505-Turbo...this is a 1.5ltr 4 cylinder indirect diesel. It has an industrial ratings of 46HP and 90 ft/lbs... @ 7psi boost stock.
The engine is all mechanical, boshe type inline mini pump, flow-thru head design...and are known to be SUPER reliable. This engine weights just 250 lbs.
---AutoMerged DoublePost---
Knowing I wanted more power, I went thru the engine first...I installed new pistons, rings, and berrings. More importantly, I added two oil squirters/coolers under each piston. To do this I had the rods drilled wither 2 tiny holes, and the rod berrings machined with a U-groove and holes corisponding to the one in the rods. This way the holes have constant oil preasure and the squirters are constantly spraying oil.
I then removed the rack-stop-screw and the throttle-stop-screw and turned in the torque screw one turn. Lastly, I installed an extra spring on the waistgate, makeing it require more boost to open.
Now the little engine has a lot more power. Sounds like a mini cummins. Makes about 15lbs now...torque feels doubled, and if I'm not careful it will slip the clutch in 4th gear.
Because of the light weight (1700lbs) and small engine size this little truck gets over 40mpg.

I'm primarily a fabricator and not that well versed in working on diesels. the throttle-stop-screw i already adjusted but I don't know what wwhere the rack-stop-screw and the torque screw are. also what spring did you use in the wastegate?
any help is appreciated!
Here is my vehicle that is in need of help

That is an awesome project, and conversion to keep a kewl old rare Jeep on and off the road. Don't recall seeing one of those before.
They aren't worth much restored with the original engine? There is a fiberglass Saab sports car from the 70's that came with a Ford V4, was used industrial, and parts still available. I wonder if similiar.
But the Kabota looks perfect for your Jeep.
Shame someone decided to diarreah on your unique project thread instead of starting their own thread.
Anyways, awesome lil' Jeep.
