I would stay far away from fire rings, unless you rebuild yearly. O-ring is a better way to go, IMO. A special gasket isn't needed if the gasket does fail. I'm over 50psi boost, ARP head studs, cam, springs, and am not having any head gasket troubles. I also have very low drive pressure for the cost of my system. Drive pressure never exceeds 60psi, and at lower RPM is much lower than boost.
like ryan said fire rings are pretty much for comp rigs only because the rings will break in a DD rig because of the number of heat cycles they see. i'm running 65psi of boost on a stock gasket with studs. like ryan also said tho drive pressure is what blows the gaskets.
