Changed out the old lift pump.. know i put gasket in.. primed the **** out of it. Now its leaking all over.. Any body changed there lift pump and had this happen.. Mmmmm diesel all over computer.. bet it will be clean now. should i undo all the connections and do em again.. I think its comin from the metal line on top.. ummm is thread tape on the fitting ok? HELP

 

Well I thread taped it and it still drips, umm going to try and tighten it a bit more.
Guess i should donate to this site then i'll get some help.

 

i've had those metal lines leak before only way i stopped it was a new line...mine leaked at the top where the compression fitting part is

i doubt it pressure is 35psi

 

There is a rubber O ring in there that you may need to replace. I replaced all the O rings when I changed out my lift pump. It's a basterd working down in that hole. Helps if you remove the inner fender liner and turn the steering wheel all the way to the right and you can work on it a lot better.

Never use thread tape - both Loctite, Swagelok, and 3M make a teflon paste. Or you can also use Permatex #2 for thread sealant.


I believe you are looking for 14mm sealing washers - they are cheap buy a bunch and have them on hand for whenever your working on your fuel system.
