Leaking fuel supply line, Crazy oil pressure Reading
#12
The only problem i see with this is torquing the fuel line fittings to the injector and the fuel rail, to 30 Ft/Lbs the fuel line is in the way so a regular socket will not go over nut on the sleeve for the line.
Does anyone know of an open ended attachment for a torque wrench? The only thing i can think of is getting a box wrench bending it into a "U" shape and using that to torque the fitting...

So going to install a new #8 fuel feed line, and the oil pressure sending unit this afternoon. Will take pics during the install of both and post them up here on the board when i am done... hope it fix's the oil pressure problem if not the only thing i think it could be is the oil level sensor in the oil pan... will keep people posted the DR Evil thanks for the Crow's foot pic.

Cant believe no duramax guys have responded. I guess its summer and people are busy.
Good luck.

Dr Evil,
Thanks for the help, posted these in the duramax specific forum on here, forgot to post them on diesels in distress. The crows foot worked like a champ although the amount of time i spent removing crap from over the line was easily double what it took me to actually replace the high pressure feed line itself

The oil pressure sensor was I believe bad from the factory, it never moved until i started having issues with the warning light, it always just read 60 psi, it never moved. The new unit reads little above 30PSI at idle and a little above 60 PSI at load, both good numbers from my understanding.
The fuel line was corroded so bad it had pin hole leaks in it. When my injectors were replaced at 47K miles under warranty, they didn't replace the fuel lines (I don't believe they cleaned them either) but ever since i got it back shortly after that i noticed that distinct diesel smell from my truck, after my return from my Afghanistan deployment, i noticed a small puddle under my truck, and sure enough diesel leaking from the number 8 fuel line. Needless to say i bought a new line and replaced the old one. Took pictures but i am at work, so I will post them today or tomorrow after class. The number 7 cylinder on the back passenger side is looking like its doing the same thing, going to replace that one and keep an eye on the rest.
Oil pressure sensor removal
Almost forgot to tell you, my truck is an 03 and i did not need to remove the inner fender well and boost tube to get to the oil pressure sensor, crawled under the truck and it was right there on the drivers side of the block, plain as day. I do have a two wheel drive, so maybe its easier to get to removing inner fender well and boost tube on a 4 wheel drive.
I did find that the two "standard" oil pressure sockets did not work on the stock (read GM OEM) denso replacement sensor. i bought a thin wall 27mm deep socket that the sensor fit in perfectly. But you could just as easily used an adjustable box wrench or regular 27mm box wrench to get the sensor off FYI.
Will say the truck runs a whole lot better with the sensor and fuel line replaced. thanks to everyone for the help.

p.s. Putting the DMAX up for sale. its almost paid off, and i am selling the toy hauler for a track specific trailer (bought the toy hauler for the wife and kids, but other than the boy the wife and daighter arent into hanging at the track) so i don't need a diesel for towing a 22 foot double axle anymore, so if you know anyone who is interested in an extended cab long bed 2 wheel drive 03 Duramax, with the banks stuff on it let me know, about 400 miles under 70k as it sits
