Default Leaking coolant 2001 Cummins

I have a 2001 24v cummins and im leaking coolant. Checked it out tonight and its dripping down and off the oil pan on the front passanger corner of it. I have to fix my truck tommorow so i can work monday out of it. Do yall think water pump? The truck still runs cool.... so should i get a new o-ring, new water pump or both. Any help would be fantastic. Thank yall!

99% sure it's the water pump. Had to change mine a couple weeks ago. Be warned. The slow leak will only last a very short while. When these things finally let go, they'll spew every gallon of coolant right onto the ground!

Cummins used the same one from 1989 to present. You can get a brand new one for under $40.00 at Auto Parts Fast at RockAuto. About $60.00 at the local parts stores or $230.00 at the Dodge stealerhip.

Easiest way to check is to pop the hood and start the engine. There's a small "flat" cast into the engine block directly under the water pump. If you see the coolant start too pool on that flat, water pump is done.

The water pump only has 2 bolts holding it the engine and on our 92 the bolts had loosened just enough for the sealing o-ring to start leaking but not enough to start a vibration. It might be worth checking that also.
