1996 6.5L keeps dieing.
I have had the truck for a couple of months it never have me any issues till last week it started dieing.but if i just sat there for 20 mins it will start up and run fine i replaced the fuel pump right under the drivers side door and the fuel filter. thought i had it fixed but deceided to die again last night would really appreciate some help
Wildbill has a point. The return line connector on the pump has a small glass check ball in it with a tiny bypass port around it. Some of the pumps had a plastic drive plate in them that would break and the pieces would plug the return fitting giving the exact symptoms you are describing. Take the return line off and remove the fitting from the pump. You can try to clean it and see if it helps. An old trick in an emergency is to take a punch and break the ball but this affects the cold start timing advance sometimes making cold weather starts harder.
