I went into town and got the new style cps on the Ford recall list, put it in and I cant get it mis or die at all now.
Now how in the heck is that cps have any relationship with the wipers???????
I might have it fixed, how did it fix it if it is fixed??

I did with the same Napa one I have been running for the last 5 years, why all of a sudden I need one from Ford.

well... some of those threads i shot to ya mentioned the CPS could be the culprit... basically the wiper motor was interfearing with the signal for the CPS, causing it to die..

hopefully that fixed it for ya!

I know, you can tell me "told you so"
I even put in a new cps right after I read them, but it was another Napa one, never in a million years would I have guessed I would have to get one from Ford.
It ran great yesterday and even cleared out the bog the truck has had at about 2500rpms.
But it must still have the 4mpg, 68miles and burned half a tank of fuel, that still hasn't changed.

Have you checked to see if the fuse box is getting wet. My windshield had a leak from a bad install job and every time it rained, water would get on my fuse box and I had all kinds of problems. I had the windshield replaced correctly and all my problems went away.

Glad to hear it's still running. If the problem should reoccur, can reopen this thread.
