I started my F250 (one in sig.) up and noticed it idled rough almost a lope type idle. I didnt think much of it as it seemed to smooth out once I was on the road. Then maybe 5 miles down the road rpms start dropping and throttle did nothing, it died completly so I drifted onto the shoulder and tryed to start it back up cranked strong but wouldnt fire. I'm praying this is one of the sensors that goes up on these trucks NOT an injector or injector system issue. I never had a loss of power til it died. What do the experts think?

Sounds like possibly a CPS(Cam Position Sensor) issue. Do you have anyone around you with AE that can scan it for you?

 

You need to get it scanned for codes.

 

Wouldnt the check engine light have come on in that case? I'm having it scaned asap

 

Did you get the codes yet? Not all issues will trip a light but they can still leave a code in the system.
