Default new guy question

i've done alot of research using this sight before and i finally decided to join and now i have a question. I have a 95 ram 2500 12 valve. i have my stock fuel plate slid full forward, afc housing slid, and starwheel turned about 6 turns. i have the stock air box, stock downpipe and a straight pipe. i was thinking about restricting, not completely closing off, the wastegate line to get a little more boost, is this a safe thing to do? also, with my current mods, should i worry about EGT's?

Keep your eye on your PSI.
An OEM setup should not get above 40 PSI.
If you have studded out your head, and have the world's best head gasket you can go up to 80 PSI.

Then there is the need for the larger set of fuel injectors.
