new guy question

i've done alot of research using this sight before and i finally decided to join and now i have a question. I have a 95 ram 2500 12 valve. i have my stock fuel plate slid full forward, afc housing slid, and starwheel turned about 6 turns. i have the stock air box, stock downpipe and a straight pipe. i was thinking about restricting, not completely closing off, the wastegate line to get a little more boost, is this a safe thing to do? also, with my current mods, should i worry about EGT's?

you should always have guages its cheap insurance, no matter whats mods you have done.

Yes a pyrometer is a must if you don't want to smoke your engine also a boost gage will let you see how hard of a pull . Learn to read your boost and pyro gages well help you fuel millage.==Good luck

Keep your eye on your PSI.
An OEM setup should not get above 40 PSI.
If you have studded out your head, and have the world's best head gasket you can go up to 80 PSI.

Then there is the need for the larger set of fuel injectors.
